JINGLEBELL JUBILEE CELEBRATION IN LOMBARD

Lombard, IL - Area organizations in the Village of Lombard partner on December 8 to bring the holidays to town in style with the Jinglebell Jubilee, a day-long event featuring free activities for the entire family from 3 - 9 p.m.

Activities include the Village of Lombard tree lighting, visits with Santa, caroling and much more. Most events will be located in downtown Lombard, and local organizations are partnering to bring free activities to the community.

"It is great to be working together with all these other Lombard organizations to provide a day long celebration for the community." said Beth Gelman, Executive Director of Lombard Town Centre.

Events are sponsored by the Village of Lombard, Lombard Town Centre, Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Helen Plum Library, Lombard Historical Museum, Lombard Park District, and Historic Maple Street area churches and neighborhood.

Complete Schedule of Events:

Cookie Walk: 3 - 5 p.m.
Downtown businesses will provide cookies, hot cider, and other goodies to shoppers.

Horse-drawn Carriage Rides: 3 - 8 p.m.
Step back in time and take a ride on a horse-drawn carriage ride.

Dance Concert: 4 p.m.
The Dance Centre will host a free holiday dance concert at their downtown location.

Caroling: 4:30 - 5:15 p.m.
Join Jackson Middle School and Glenbard East Madrigal Singers for caroling at Main St. and St. Charles Rd.

Official Village Holiday Tree Lighting and Santa's Arrival: 5:15 p.m.
Santa will arrive via fire truck to assist in the lighting of the Village Tree at St. Charles Rd. & Main St.

Lighting of Lilacia Park and Winter Clothing Drive: 6 - 8 p.m.
Enjoy the kickoff celebration for Holiday Walk at Lilacia Park, including visits with Santa, refreshments, and train rides. Donations of NEW mittens and winter hats for the needy will be collected. The park entrance is located at the corner of Park Avenue and Parkside Avenue.

Canterbury Carollers: 6 - 8 p.m.
Enjoy refreshments, children's activities and a performance of Victorian carols at Helen Plum Library.

Ghosts of Christmas Past: 6:30 - 9 p.m.
Guests may tour the Lombard Historical Museum by lamplight and watch the past come to life as costumed interpreters recreate Christmas Eve in 1880s Lombard. The Carriage House will have refreshments, music, visits with Santa, children's activities and the Emporium Gift Shop. The museum is located at 23 W. Maple Street.
